Here's how we build it together

Step 1: Understand how proposals work and choose your proposal type

Before we build anything, we cover how a Dubsado proposal actually works, the three steps every proposal moves a client through: service selection, contract, and payment. Then we walk through all four proposal types so you know exactly which one fits each service in your business.

Fixed or Custom Proposal
You define the service and the price. The client reviews, signs, and pays. Works well with very individualized services where each client's needs will vary and the proposal needs to reflect every nuance of the project.

Service Selection Proposal
Your client chooses their own services from the options you've set up. Perfect for businesses with multiple service tiers or offerings.

Service Selection Combo
Your client selects their main service and then chooses from a section of add-ons. Great for businesses where clients regularly customize their package with extras.

Public Website Purchase Proposal
A proposal that lets clients purchase directly from your website with out a discovery call or email exchange needed prior to purchase.

You might end up using one or more of these proposal options, depending on what you offer, and by the end of this course you'll have a full understanding how each works with different service types.

Step 2: Set up your assets

Before we build the proposal itself we set up everything that goes alongside it, the email you'll send to deliver the proposal to your client, and one or two follow-up emails for when they haven't completed it yet.

We also build your contract form so it's ready to drop straight into the proposal.

Step 3: Build your proposal

Now we build. I'll walk you through an example first so you can see exactly how it comes together in the Dubsado builder, and then we'll build yours hands-on together.

And if building directly in Dubsado's builder isn't your thing, I've got a bonus lesson showing you how to design your proposal blocks in Canva and bring them in as image blocks instead, so you're only using the Dubsado builder for the service selection elements. I'll even give you a Canva template to get you started if you want to go that route.

Step 4: Test it and connect it to your website

Before we're done you'll test your proposal so you know the whole flow works exactly the way it should, service selection through to payment. We also cover how to connect it to your website so it's ready to go live.
